OUTREACH OUTREA H F the newsletter of aa 7a 7 e 7e&aacaofo eu&cfr 56 t sfrctaat tidctad itteiictteffiwl MARCUS BACH founder no 89 THE LETTER dear friend of the fellowship fellows without appearing boastful may we say that we have made a significant contribution to popularization and explanation of the magic word serendipity we have written about it in issues of OUTREACH prenticehall prentice hall published my book about it THE WORLD OF serendipity unity magazine and other journals have printed stories about our interpretation of it and a great many things have happened which have made people conscious of the true meaning of serendipity which websters unabridged dictionary now defines as the gift of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for because of us a couple in south carolina named their acres serendipity FARM A roving easterner christened his van serendipity A woman who became attached to a stray dog has called him SERENDIP there is a section in chicago called serendipity CITY there are now book stores investment companies beauty kits salads and home builders who have adopted the happysounding happy sounding word recently in burlington iowa I 1 spied a serendipity boutique out of all this has come another amazingly serendipitous happening on a farm near petersburg illinois lives an OUTREACH reader who was inspired to start a serendipity greeting card print shop in the basement of her home some time ago several of her homespun cards serendipitously found their way to me at this stage of the game the only address on the cards was petersburg no state and a zip code running down the zip code helped me get in touch with the anonymous genius behind what she called serendipity PRINTS or serigraphy I 1 have never met her but I 1 know she must be for real because not long ago she suggested she would like to make an OUTREACH card for everyone on our list currently this list runs into the thousands but that apparently made no difference to the founder of serigraphy she thought it was all very serendipitous and a lot of fun
