OUTREACH the newsletter of awe 7we 7 ettacfr 57elleeva&a lab T sad sAe sfrcctuai saeozera ardra abeta ozera vadeowed4v zicteteutccm foenmtt tuvw4awa MARCUS BACH founder NO 236 THE LETTER dear friend of the fellowship no doubt about it people have more questions about religion and the spiritual quest during these amazing 80s than at any time in the history of our FSU that history goes back to the counter culture revolution of the equally amazing gos 60s my personal research recorded in 26 books and countless articles dates back to the charismatic and holistic healing movements of the 50s to the god is dead uproar of the 40s to the invasion of traditional religion by the skilled metaphysical entrepreneurs of the 30s who viewed the great depression as a challenging time to affirm that despite the gloom and doom god was still in his heaven and alls right with the world this is what makes FSU so exciting and constructive we have the capability of looking backward into time the better to comprehend the present and to comprehend the present state of religion is invaluable in contemplating thefuture the future from the vantage point of SPIRITUAL SPI RITUAL understanding something like FSU and there is nothing quite like it is needed to help us keep a steady keel to appreciate ancient landmarks and to recognize newly discovered goals to honor tradition where tradition is honorable and to value truth wherever truth is found FSU also provides a forum for expression for feelings about faith for personal and interpersonal experiences points of view knowing that every life is a story and every world event a signal and a sign of how we are related to destiny to history and to the presence of god in the life of our time more particularly the need for SPIRITUAL understanding FSU is becoming more and more of a data base no strings attached to share and to comment on peoples questions on the quest A healthy spa of spirit a reader once called it he happened to see in an OUTREACH issue a four line affirmation that turned him on lines that came to me one night during a moonlit amoonlit walk keep your mind creative keep your faith secure keep your body supple there you have the cure so here we are impelled and inspired by a recent tide of letters urging us todevote to devote a goodly portion of each monthly OUTREACH to QUESTIONS ON THE QUEST we plan to do it send us your questions and comments continue your support give us the names of friends who might be interested most of all turn the page and see for yourself what is happening to our third issue of QUESTIONS ON THE QUEST yours for the Fellow fellowship fellowshir shir 161 L al 6l
