OUTREACH OUTREA the newsletter of ade 7de 7 57emwd4ea ettwcfr gaar gaor goor T saeoteeg4t sfocctuai zieletatut icwatwhi MARCUS BACH founder no Q 106 log Q THE LETTER dear friend of the fellows fellowship the other night on TV an analyst said he thought the economy would spurt up now because christmas is coming I 1 said to myself poor guy doesnt he know that the merchandising market has already absorbed the christmas buying spree and doesnt he realize that in thirty days the spurt will be over and the stores will settle back to business as usual then I 1 got to thinking that I 1 wasnt much more advanced in my thinking than the analyst was in his what he was saying about economics was what I 1 was saying to myself about the meaning of christmas itself in the back of my mind was the persistent perennial thought that the spurt of the christmas spirit builds up to a climax and then after a short thirty days clays it too fades out and we go back to our business as usual way of life this is to say that as we go on a buying spree and then settle back so we also have our spree of christmas love and christmas cheer and then we settle back and say well there goes another christmas thank you father and let it go at that but I 1 had another thought even if christmas isnt forever even if it is only for a season or for a long weekend isnt it wonderful to have it at all what would a year be without christmas what would december be without joy to the world what would the winter solstice be without the warmth of a merry merry or the nudge at least of peace on earth good will to men for that matter how could we think of christmas without christmas stamps as we were saying in last months OUTREACH when we began our story which is being continued in this issue most of all lets just THINK CHRISTMAS you in your way I 1 in mine and all of us together in the love and spirit and joy of life christmas someone once said 1 I ithink think it was 1 I comes but once a year but actually its always here for those who make it so do have a blessed and happy one yours for the fellowship
