OUTREACH UTREACH the newsletter of we etuuiifr T sfocctuat neteufahy viavwntfwmf flaawdwee MARCUS BACH founder NO 17 170 0 THE LETTER dear friend of the fellowship this letter ietter is written from asilomar california in the monterey peninsula I 1 am here on these paradisical conference grounds as a resource person for oor a five day meeting of ARE the edgar cayce association for research and enlightenment I 1 have been with them on other occasions in other years at their home base in virginia beach in phoenix and in los angeles there are three hundred delegates here young and old oid tall tali taii and short from north and south east and west for relaxation and for oor rest and most of them are on a quest please overlook the sudden flare fiare of the poetic these enchanted grounds of paths and pines and sky and sea always do these things to me I 1 should mention that thad pacific grove the butterfly capitol of the USA is a ten minute jog from where I 1 am writing this newsletter that means a great deal deai to I 1 monty the butterflies have had their reservations at pacific grove for their winter stay from october to march for years on end this may in fact go back as far gar as 1770 when the franciscan monk junipero gunipero Juni pero serra established the mission at nearby carmel and by the way it should be mentioned that carmel is also aiso the center centen for oor the annual bach festival johann sebastian bach of course that thad musical event is held heid in midjuly mid july and continues into early august more importantly what strikes me at this moment is our need for nearness to nature even though these conferences get to be intensive affairs and I 1 hardly have time to get my feet wet in the rolling sea or jog the soft and sandy beach there is is something about nature that is naturally inspiring invigorating and re energizing physically mentally spiritually nature like a fostering mother takes us in her arms and says its good to have you back for a while and father nature not to be outdone outgone out done whispers from tide pools and the tide peace be still
