olt OUT OUTREACH REA pek aek H th the e newsletter of 74e 7 we 57 e etuufa etU efa Ufa z sfomtwu elt elk TMT mffwffffklf MARCUS BACH founder no 172 THE LETTER dear friend of the fellowship life moves in cycles at least it seems to be the case with me and during the past few months there has been what I 1 would call a nostalgic cycle a time when I 1 was forced to look back to the days when my interest was all wrapped up in playwriting this was longer ago than I 1 care to admit I 1 was in college and writing all sorts of one act and longer dramas for churches and schools and hopefully the theatre there were plays about religious leaders historic events and other inspirational material many of these plays were produced and published within the past few months for some serendipitous reason letters have come to me from unity centers churches and schools informing me that some of these presentations are now being performed and apparently enjoyed all of which is by way of coming to this newsletter with christmas just around the corner with sentiment about days of old with all of you readers of OUTREACH in mind and just for a change I 1 thought it would be fun to share one of these revived plays with you here it is just as it was published in a book called VESPER DRAMAS years ago it occurred to me that perhaps your church group or your literary club or your little theatre group or you and some friends might enjoy doing the play for christmas since I 1 am sure you dont have anything else to do but whether you perform it or not the reading of it will be a quiet prelude to christmas it will be an interesting backward look to days of innocence for many of you for young people it will provide an insight into christmas of other years to all 0 ail ali it will be a reminder that the spirit of christmas is and always has been a time for reflection sentiment love joy and personal response to something deep and precious in the human heart it is such fun to share this with you and it would be wonderful to hear from you as to your reception and response to this digression from our customary LESSON AND LEARNING as you take time to sit back and enjoy MOTHER OWEN KEEP KEEPS CHRISTMAS yours for the fellowship v
