OUTREACH UTREA H the newsletter of we as 7s 57emewdo etucfa 561 T sfoettat 56evag4l tcuutcutcum htenwnttqmt MARCUS BACH founder no M 202 nco oco THE LETTER dear friend of the fellowship one of our most popular OUTREACH issues judging from comments and letters received was no 199 WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE TEN commandments in reading rereading re it I 1 came up with a shock as sudden and severe as a lightning flash on mt sinai where the commands of the lord originated the reason there was an error in the LESSON that slipped past our usually competent proofreaders proof readers the third commandment was inadvertently a repetition of commandment one most of our readers either did not notice it or were too polite to call our attention to the mistake perhaps I 1 should not even mention this now that the deed is done but that is what really happened to our ten commandments and it seems to be sounding a warning to me that remembering the commandments in sequence is nothing I 1 should boast about if you didnt notice the error let me share an old time story with you I 1 was asked to preach in an evangelical church years ago on the text out of the book of revelation 1 I am the alpha and the omega the beginning and the end when the local pastor got up to read the text he accidently proclaimed in his best clerical voice 1 I am the A ifafa and the omega when we got together later in his study he slumped into a chair and said think of that after some thirty years in the ministry what happened I 1 asked as innocently as possible what happened didnt you hear me say ALFAFA to give it a touch of humor I 1 said 1 I thought you were reading out of timothy this is a quip that only midwesterners may appreciate the most important point was that most people in the congregation werent even listening closely enough to catch the error I 1 hope this was not the case with the third commandment you just didnt want to hurt my feelings right at any rate my apologies from all of us at FSU and now lets turn to the errorless error less lesson titled SPIRITUAL understanding BY WAY OF THE EXPLORING MIND yours for the fellowship
