Abstract (English)	This study occurred in the area of Coroico at 1700 meters above sea level and in the community of Carmen Pampa, situated at 1850 meters above sea level. Coroico is the capital of Nor Yungas province, department of La Paz. This study hopes to contribute information on reference values for erythrocyte numbers, hemoglobin values, and hematocrits for people between 15 and 60 years old that live between 1700 and 1850 meters above sea level, with the goal of facilitating precise diagnosing of anemia. The study used samples of healthy people, residents with more than two months in Coroico, of middle socioeconomic situation. They were selected by correlating the factors that could influence the values higher or lower, and finally results were obtained for a complete hemogram through an electronic instrument. Hematometric indexes were taken in order to exclude people with any type of anemia. In order to interpret the results, a coefficient correlation was applied with measurements of the average, standard deviation (SD), and 2 SD to define the reference limits for both men and women. Finally, they were compared with the values established for La Paz (3600 meters above sea level) and Santa Cruz (420 meters above sea level). A statistical z-test was used to obtain the differences. The results obtained reject the alternative hypothesis with relation to values in the Santa Cruz population because there is not a significant difference. The alternative hypothesis was accepted with relation to the values from La Paz's population because of a significant difference. Thus the values obtained are similar to the established values for Santa Cruz.
Abstract (Spanish)	El presente estudio se realizó en la localidad de Coroico situada a 1700 msnm y la comunidad de Carmen Pampa situada a1850 msnm. Coroico es capital de !a Provincia Nor Yungas del departamento de La Paz. Con el presente estudio se pretende contribuir con la información de valores de referencia para número de Eritrocitos, valor de Hemoglobina y Hematocrito para las personas de 15 a 60 años que habitan entre 1700 a1850 msnm, con el fin de facilitar al diagnóstico preciso de anemias La investigación toma como muestra a personas "sanas", procedentes y residentes con más de dos meses en Coroico, de condición socioeconómica media. Se selecciona haciendo una correlación de los factores de puedan influir con disminución o aumento de los valores, y finalmente se obtiene resultados de hemograma completo mediante un instrumento electrónico. Se toma índices Hematimétricos para excluir a personas con alguna forma de anemia. Para interpretar los resultados se aplica Coeficiente de Correlación, medidas de Media, desviación estándar (DE), 2DE para definir los limites de referencia tanto para varones y mujeres. Finalmente se compara con los valores establecidos en las Ciudades de La Paz (3600 msnm) y Santa Cruz (420msnm). Para obtener estadísticamente la diferencia se aplica la pruebaZ". Se obtiene los resultados rechazando la hipótesis alterna con relación a valores de la población de Santa Cruz, porque no existe diferencia significativa, y aceptando con relación a valores de la población de la ciudad de La Paz por la diferencia significativa, por lo tanto los valores obtenidos son similares a valores establecidos en Santa Cruz.
