[1] (3 nal pril 19th 1851 This evening as we were preparing to start for Honolulu a person called in to see us from Hawaii infor ming us that Bro. Hawkins was well & he beleived he had baptized 8 persons this was good news as we had not been able to hear from him for a long time. This morning af ter giving the parting hand to Bro. Can non & Keeler Bro Bigler & myself went on board the Ayrshire lass and started for Honolulu ; soon after starting we were both sea sick & I soon vomited up what was in me; we got in the night with the rain as we had to lie on deck not being able to pay for a passage in the cabin. Sunday , April 20 th I still continued very seasick; this morning I had a chill from the effects of the wet & cold last night: we make very little progress to day on accout of head winds & calms we reached the outside of the harbor at day end anchored for the night. . .
