Finally Frankenstein cuts off his leg to save his life. Dalton didn't know if he appreciated it or
not. At times he wanted to die. But his spirit wouldn't let him. He just couldn't give in.

CHAPTER 2
Lou dies, just before trip
they are going during the beginning of the monsoon season W- l
Paige and Sky are having trouble
Sky is being bratty
Dalton thinks she's uptight about the trip
Sky says stuff about her " real" mother
Paige feels she needs to stay back and help Bryant and the kids. She'll meet them there but she
sometimes wonders if maybe it's better to stay back and give Sky the space she needs without her
being there.
Jared finds out he can't leave because of basketball and his girlfriend
Paige is sad because she feels guilty she survived. Why did Lou die and not her?
She talks to Dalton and he says something about Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean
not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he will direct they
paths. This will be a blessing to them somehow, someday. He knows how she feels because he
felt that way as his soldiers died in front of his eyes, why him? Why did he survive? Doesn't
really know but he knows that he's learned to make the most of the second chance with life that
he's been given. Bry and the kids will hurt for a long time and always feel the loss, but they'll be
stronger and things will work out.
Paige asks Dalton if he's nervous to go back. He says he would do anything to not have to go
back, there's nothing there he ever wants to see again, but he tells Paige, I'm not doing this for
me, I'm doing this for Sky. She needs to know who she is and where she came from. She needs
to know about her mother. She needs to get some kind of closure with Soon Lee, that's why
she's treating you so badly. She's mad that you're there and not her mother. Dalton has been
having trouble sleeping more than usual and Paige wonders if he needs a little closure too.
Paige gives Sky a locket with a picture of Soon Lee in it.
CHAPTER 3
Page 73, Captive Warriors ( or 45) Flashback - Dalton gets moved to Hanoi. Has to walk with
makeshift crutch. Painful. A- 14, 5 D- 1,2 BB- 22

Dalton helps the men stay alive. He tries to help them have courage to not let the VC break
them.

Dalton tries to find someone to help him find village of Soon Lee's family and take them to the
spot where he and his men were shot and he was captured
Summer monsoon W- l
Dalton misses Paige, give his feelings of being back there. Thought he would have trouble being
around the people, but they've been kind and they are beautiful people. The children are bright
and smiling and it warms his heart.
