i S t il 71 j3a& j T 77 4 vren kren ai9k r i C 1 CENTRAL UTAH WATER alj hij conservancy DISTRICT r r 1 7 N & J i etaf qtaf sleeter ewsletter sletter newsletter ew t 8 r N ci SUMMER 1985 central utah water conservancy district appoints new manager gar gam tar MW don A christiansen was appointed general manager secretary of the central utah water conservancy district recently mr christiansen has been serving as the president chairman of the board of the central utah water conservancy district for the past seven months and resigned that position april 26 1985 mr christiansen is currently the mayor of alpine city and has held beld hejdthat beldthat that positi politi position 1 0 n for 1 12 2 years he owns and operates hisown disown his own insurance agency affiliated with the state farm companies in utah county prior to being in the insurance business mr christiansen was a sales representative for a heavy equipment company he has been chairman of the timpanogos Timpano gos planning and water management agency chairman of the utah council of governments member of the board of trustees of the american fork hospital and chairman of the timpanogos Timpano gos special service district an agency which operates a four city sewage treatment plant he also serves on the board of directors of the north utah county solid waste district mr christiansen is a native of salt lake city he lives in alpine with his wife dolores they have 11 children and 9 grandchildren 4 majority of mayors in salt lake county back vote on CUP SOUTH SALT LAKE mayors of most salt lake county cities have agreed to present to their respective city councils a resolution supporting the forthcoming election to assure the continuation of the central utah project west valley mayor gerald K maloney explained to the members of the salt lake county council of governments that to complete the bonneville unit unitand and other key facilities including the jordanelle Jor danelle dam and reservoir the residents in the 12 counties included in the CUP will have to approve an additional 335 million in reimbursement costs to the federal government this is in addition to the 144408000 approved by the voters in 1965 mayor maloney said the additional loan will still have to be paid out of the statutory limit of 2 mills the CUP can levy by extending the time for repayment mayor maloney said 3 3. cdail cdtil
