afe dle 4fe e fi s THE CENTRAL UTAH WATER conservancy DISTRICT x the central utah water conservancy district was established on march 29 2 1964 by the fourth district court it originally included all of salt lake utah duchesne uintah and wasatch counties and parts of juab and summit counties in may 1967 the boundaries of the district were enlarged enlarge d 1 to include all of millard plute and sevier counties and parts of San sanpete sanpeti peti and garfield counties countries it presently includes more than 60 percent of the assessed valuation and population of the entire state within its boundaries thedistrict the district is governed by a 19 man board of directors appointed for3 fora for 3 year terms by the fourth judicial court of utah to represent the various geographical areas I 1 the purposes of the district a are re to sponsor the construction of the central utah project by the U S bureau of reclamation repay the reimbursable construction costs of the project market the water it develops operate and maintain the project to deliver the water develop new water and to develop and operate its own facilities to the extent necessary to deliver project and district water for irrigation municipal and industrial requirements the district has a full time staff and various consultants whichare whichard whi which chace chare ace are available to plan and help direct its efforts toward the optimum deve develops developi lop iop lopi T ment with maximum economies of the water resources available to the dist district brict rict thedistricts the districts headquarters are located at 355 west 1300 south orem4utabj orem mutahi utahi it is conveniently located for easy access to interstate highway 15 which provides rapid transportation to points north and south throughout the district it is also conveniently located to provide easy access poprovo toprovo tojftoyo to Provo canyon and the uintah basin the site is large enough to provide roomfor room for foc future expansion of facilities as needed this report reflects the advancement of the district since its organization in 1964 it also illustrates the effort by the district in advising the citizens of the district of the progress made during this period of time i j I 1 y w
