President Brigham Young built this house on his Forest Farm in 1863. Meetings, socials, and other events were held in this home. Years later, members of the Forest Dale Ward met in the home when that ward was first organized in 1896. The structure has been moved from its original Salt Lake Valley location (near the present-day Sugar House area) to Old Deseret Village in This is the Place Heritage Park. The park is located at the mouth of Emigration Canyon in Salt Lake City. The Forest Farmhouse has many artifacts from the pioneer period on display. It is open to the public during the summer season and some special occasions.
