Mormon Government.—The St. Louis papers give an account of an affray in Nauvoo, Illinois, on the 26th ult., the result of which shows the effectiveness of Joe Smith's administration. It appears that he attempted personally to arrest a man named Spencer for an assault, but that two others came to the assistance of the accused, and that a fight ensued. The Prophet, however, succeeded in disarming his antagonists, and then took his seat as judge to try the case. He fined Spencer $100 for the original assault, and Spen-cer and his two assistants $100 each for "re-sisting the city authorities." Appeals were ta-ken in each case, but we are not informed whether Joe Smith is the judge at the new trials or not.—Boston Daily Adv.
