Another of the Mormon elders, Mr. O. Olney, has come out with a pamphlet expose of what he terms "Spiritual Wifery at Nauvoo." He indors-es the statement of Smith with regard to the cor-ruption of their doctrine, and gives as a reason for his own course in the matter that he expected to find Nauvoo a place of peace and piety, but found it just the contrary. Brigham Young says, (accor-ding to Olney's account):
"The Bible is no more to the people of this gen-eration than a last year's almanac, for I am all the Bible needful for the people now, if they obey my counsel."
