Utah Army Supplies—Number of Trains sent out.
One of the officers of a Missouri river steamer, lately obtained from Messrs. Majors, Russell & Wadell, the contractors for supplying the forces composing the army of Utah, the fol-lowing memoranda regarding the num-ber of trains sent out by them previous to the 18th inst.
From Kansas City—14 trains of 26 wagons each—total 364.
From Leavenworth City—105 trains of 26 wagons each—total 2,730.
From Nebraska City—35 trains of 26 wagons each—total 910.
Private with Merchandise—4 trains of 25 wagons each—total 100.
This makes since the beginning of their operations in the Spring, an ag-gregate of 4,004 wagons, all of which, excepting, perhaps, the 100 set down under the head of merchandise, were on account of the United States Gov-ernment. How many more will be required to complete their contract, does not appear from the above state-ment. Trains, however, at the time our informant left, were still being loaded and put in motion with all ne-cessary expedition.—St. Louis Demo-crat.
