Brigham Young Resigning his Trusts—His Past Course Enthusiastically Sus-tained.
SALT LAKE CITY, Oct, 9.—At a conference, yesterday, BRIGHAM YOUNG tendered his resig-nation as Trustee in trust of the Mormon Church. He said he would like a young man, or men, appointed to that office. Mr. CANNON arose and said that there were two motions to be put, one that President YOUNG be sustained as Trustee in trust, and the other, that his resignation be accepted. The first motion, that he be sustained, was put, when the vast congregation responded by uplifted hands; the negative not being called for there was no response. The result was greeted with rounds of applause. BRIGHAM YOUNG resigned the Presidency of the Perpetual Emigration Fund, which was accepted, and H. S. ELDRIDGE was nominated and sustained in his stead.
