Not only are the historical facts about the state interesting, but numerous pictures support and add to the information given. Further, there is a quick-reference section in the back with facts about the state (the state bird, flower, etc.) as well as a time line of Michigan history. The book would most likely be of special interest to those familiar with Michigan, but would be useful for others as well. If the other books in this states series are as well done as is this volume, they would all be beneficial additions to the library.
