Description	This monument commemorates the restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood. John the Baptist conferred this priesthood upon the Prophet Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery on May 15, 1829. The monument seen here is located near the site of that historic event, on the banks of the Susquehanna River at what was once Harmony, Pennsylvania. Some 60,000 Aaronic Priesthood holders and their leaders donated funds for the monument. It was dedicated on June 18, 1960 by Presiding Bishop Joseph L. Wirthlin.
