Description	This image shows the South Platte River just west of its confluence with the North Platte River. Once the two rivers merge, they become the Platte River. The confluence site is located near the the city of North Platte, Nebraska. The Saints, journeying westward, followed the North Platte River to just beyond Casper, Wyoming. Following the South Platte River would have taken the Saints to Colorado.
