Description	This rebuilt log home was constructed on the exact site where the Prophet Joseph Smith lived at the time of the First Vision. It was here that Moroni appeared to young Joseph. His sister, Lucy, was born here; his brother, Alvin, died here. Near here the eight witnesses saw and held the plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated. Several sections of the Doctrine and Covenants were likely revealed here. This home was dedicated on 27 March 1998 by President Gordon B. Hinckley.
