Description	The Sweetwater River flows south out of the Windriver Mountain Range near South Pass, Wyoming. From there, it turns east running through the Sweetwater Valley where the Mormon Pioneer Trail crossed it, perhaps as many as nine times. It went through Devil's Gate, past Independence Rock, and eventually joined the North Platte River. This view shows the river near the site where it emerges from the Windriver Range.
