Description	This view shows the area of the city of North Platte, Nebraska. Near here, the Pioneer Company began using an odometer on one of the wagons. North Platte and South Platte rivers merge here, becoming the Platte River. That river then runs east to the Missouri River. Brigham Young and the Saints had followed the Platte River going west. At this point they followed the North Platte on to the area of Casper, Wyoming.
