The Windsor P. Lyon family opened in 1843. As a general store, several items such as medicine, textiles, hardware, household items, shoes, books, stationery, and producewere carried there. The Lyon family grew many of the plants used for herbal and medicinal purposes in their own garden. The barrels would have come from as far away as Barbados carrying sugar, molassess and other products. Whale oil and salted fish in barrels were also offered. In the background are blankets and animal skins that could have been traded by Indians.
