Notes	"[Pleased with the editing job "Jergers" has done on BITTER SEEPS] As regards these last novels, particularly the ones which we did not consider as being in publishable for, it has always been Mother's Romer's, and my feeling that our being the closest to Dad and understanding his work as well as we do, made it necessary for us to revise these last books so that they can be published as closely in the Zane Grey tradition as possible. In the past, it is time that we have not found the time to do this where it was needed in the case of some of the other books that have already been published. MAVERICK QUEEN, where the sense of Kit Bandon' relationship with the cowboys was so altered as to destroy much of the point of the story. Although I realize that the tradition has always been that Grey could be read by everyone from eight to eighty, in this case it seems to me that tradition was upheld to the detriment of the story. [so he feels it necessary that the family further edit it. HPS/F.]"
