The collection contains a handwritten diary covering the years 1853 to 1855 and typed copies of patriarchal blessings of Hazen family members. Hazen writes about his conversion to Mormonism in England, his calling as a branch president in that faith, his marriage to Mary Ann Bainbridge, and his emigration to the United States.
