The Western Union cablegram was sent to Elder Young by Thomas Clark Pollock of New York regarding the internationalization of Jerusalem.; Kept while Young was president of the Swiss-Austrian Mission. Entries are both handwritten and typed, are often lengthy and detailed, and describe his activities as president and his visits to scenic places in Switzerland and nearby countries. The volume also contains copies of letters sent home, pressed flowers, photo-graphs, lists of missionaries, newspaper clippings, and printed material. Written and printed contents are in both English and German. A photocopy of the pamphlet attached to the inside back cover of the journal is located in box 3, folder 5.; A collection of photographs, postcards, pressings, and occasional journal-type notes depicting scenic places, people, etc. in Italy and describing Young's feelings about Italy. Most of the information is on Luther. Includes photographs, excerpts from published works, several pamphlets, and facsimiles of letters written in the sixteenth century.; This manuscript appears to have been part of Young's Columbia University M.A. Thesis, 1910. The date on this manuscript and the handwritten revisions suggest he was updating it for publication or for conversion into a doctoral dissertation while a student at Columbia during 1924-1925.; Articles, speeches, lecture notes, and thoughts, apparently most were written by Young. These manuscripts are arranged in three groups: 1) History; 2) Religion and Civic Affairs; and 3) Miscellaneous and fragments.; Contains typewritten notes, poems, thoughts, etc., on religion and history. Probably used by Elder Young during and following his mission when giving speeches or lectures.; Contains information on Levi Edgar Young, Seymour Bicknell Young, Elizabeth Riter Young, John R. Young, and Samuel W. Richards.; Two diplomas awarded to Seymour Bicknell Young by the Institutio Medica Neo-Eboracensis, 1870, and the Universitatis Urbis Neo Eboraci, 1874, both apparently a part of the University Medical College of New York; and one diploma awarded to Levi Edgar Young by the University of Utah, Bachelor of Science degree, 12 June 1895. The latter carries the signatures of James E. Talmage, President, and Robert Harkness, Chancellor.
